I am listening to Alphabeat’s first album “Alphabeat”.

Robbie William’s newest effort and 8th studio record Reality Killed The Video Star has made it’s way into my hands. I’ve only listened to bits and pieces so far, but I plan to do a full listen from start to finish tonight and spin it a few times throughout the day tomorrow before I make any bold assessment of it.
I usually feel like Robbie’s albums are quite strong and worth the wait. I’m personally more of a “Rock-Robbie” fan… his decision to put out a rap-inspired album (Rudebox) churned out 3-4 really strong singles, but the later half of the album had some really bizarre and half-assed tunes. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the record - Just not long enough.
My favourite Robbie albums are Sing When You’re Winning, Escapology, and Intensive Care. They are pop, yes, but they are also something a little more unique and fulfilling - A bit Morrissey inspired if you ask me.
So… I’ll make an assessment tomorrow. However, I can say that from what I’ve heard this album is very different from his latest work (in a very very good way), and the album has more than enough very strong tracks on it. “Difficult for Weirdos” stands out in particular. Very electropop oriented with a neat string pad/bell pad going off in the back the whole time. Strange actually since the album isn’t electric by any means. It’s actually quite orchestral.
Blah blah blah… I’ll dish my opinion tomorrow.

Mike Skinner’s last album under the name of The Streets will be released in February. It will be called Computer & Blues. He has been leaking out demos from the album for a few months now. It sounds quite promising. The album is said to be inspired by the city of Berlin.
I’m excited to hear the completed album. Sad The Streets will be over though. :(

I’m listening to Muse and playing Ocarina of Time. I’ll most likely watch SNL later.
